COVID-19: Live above Fear, Live in the Word

Beloved in Christ,
Greetings in the name of the LORD.  Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.

I write to exhort you to live above fear in these troubling times our generation is experiencing. Actually, this is the first to be witnessed by us, as a generation – the magnitude of loss of precious lives to a single plague.

However, Jesus Christ still lives, and He is King of kings and Lord of all. He is the Head of all principality and power according to Colossians 2:10. It is in Him that we find security and preservation from evils. Remember that He was the passover lamb with which Israel escaped death in Egypt on the day Death passed over the land.

Truly the shadow of death is passing over nations but Christ Jesus is our passover lamb too. Believe in the Word and be saved.

Jude 1 verse 1 reads,  “Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called”

Note the words, “preserved in Jesus Christ”

Yeah… Our preservation is in Him. And He is the Word of God. As we spend time in the word of God, reading and meditating, we are built up in Christ Jesus and grounded in faith. This is where we build confidence against evil times as these.

Fear is the chief weapon of the Devil. And note that fear too is a sin. According the Revelation 21:8, the fearful would be cast into the lake of fire. This informs us of the gravity of fear in the sight of the Almighty God. Fear doubts His power, and belittles Him. He is the Most High God and everything is subject to His authority and power.

Beloved, it is needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that you should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints as you give time to study and meditate on the Word of God (Jude 1:3 KJV).

Live in the Word of God, and you would live above fear. Fear paralyses an individual physically and spiritually. Physically, fear has a negative impact on people’s health. Yeah! Fear would weaken your immune system and make you contract diseases, because you becomes susceptible to them. Faith and joy is strength to the body.

“For the joy of the Lord is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10 KJV)
“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones” (Proverbs 17:22 KJV)

We are what we eat. What goes into us literally becomes the substance of our lives. Invest time in the Word of God. Feed on it to live above fear and to lay claim to the promises of God for us in this season through prevailing prayer and intercession.

Jesus still saves, He heals, He restores. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Acts 2:21 KJV). Make a choice to pursue God’s Word, and overcome the perils of our time with the power it provides. Shalom, shalom. Blessings.
