“Let there be light” (Genesis 1:3).
These were the first words of the Supreme Creator to His dark, void and formless creation. “And there was light” (Genesis 1:3) was the subsequent result following His first utterance; and that begun the construction of an extremely beautiful and amazing universe.
With His Word He created everything in the universe: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made.” (John 1:1,3 KJV)
God created the awe-inspiring universe He desired and had planned with His words. But the big question is this: What was the nature of those WORDS?
A critical look at the first chapter of Genesis reveals a hidden truth to this awesome creation of His. Found in this chapter are these: “God”, which appears 32 times; “let”, appearing 13 times; and “evening and morning”, 6 times written in connection with God’s creation.
“God,” who is the Creator of the Universe, “let” out WORDS which brought CHANGE every “evening and morning” in all six days of His wonderful work of Creation. God created everything we see, from the smallest animal to the giant celestial galaxies with the word “LET”. This is a powerful word of permission grounded on the choice of the person uttering the word. Therefore, God created the entire expanse of the universe with WORDS OF PERMISSION, as they pleased Him, or as He desired.
Created in the image and after the likeness of God, the words of Man carry enormous power, of the similitude resident in His words at the time of creation; and creation responds to them just as uttered, whether good or bad.
It’s sad many of God’s children are oblivious of the magnitude of power contained in their words. And that, the physical and spiritual worlds take seriously and respond to them as spoken, even if they are idle words, not intended seriously. For this reason Christ Jesus said:
I say to you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the Day of Judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned (Matthew 12:36-37 KJV).
This means that your life would be shaped, and the course of your destiny determined, by the kind of words you utter from your own lips. For “a man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue; and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” (Proverbs 18:20–21 KJV).
If God, our Heaven Father, commanded the light to shine out of darkness (2 Corinthians 4:6) and made all His creation with words of permission, then it is imperative that His Children do same to shape the course of their lives.
Jesus revealed, “For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” (Matthew 11:23 KJV). “Whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall be bond in heaven; and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 18:18 KJV).
Therefore, it’s the case that, the darkness in the lives of men is a situation permitted by men themselves; and that the reason why some things aren’t going right is because we have permitted them to run as they are.
Failure to act against an undesired development is an indirect way of consenting to whatever development it is. God kicked out darkness, and showed it its place by uttering permissive words of creation, and He wants His Children to do same. As He permitted the light of the world, Jesus, to shine with words, so He obliges each person to bring this light into their hearts and lives with words of permission. “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:10 KJV).
It is time to get up and kick out darkness and its accompanying elements from your life; it’s time to speak positive creative words into your life, and create that life you longed for with words. Don’t keep silent! Speak, and speak the right words!! The Prophet Isaiah lamented: “For Zion’s sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth” (Isaiah 62:1 KJV). Open your mouth and utter words of life onto that ailing body, failing business, or marriage. Make some audacious declaration into your future, to shape its course, in the name of Jesus Christ!
“Thou shall also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee; and the light shall shine upon thy way. When men are cast down, then thou shall say, There is lifting up” (Job 22:28-29). Resolve never to utter negative or destructive words from now on. Because your Heavenly Father will create for you whatever thing you speak. He said in Isaiah 57:19, “I create the fruit of the lips” (KJV). “Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in my ears, so will I do to you” (Numbers 14:28 KJV).
Never underestimate the power of spoken words. Words of creativity and beauty from the mouth of the Almighty every evening and morning in six days brought our awe-inspiring universe into being. From now, begin to create that life you longed for with positive confessions you should utter every evening and morning!
