Why many Christians are failing to influence today’s Secular World

Make a differenceIt is nearly two millennia since the first city of the East, Antioch, first applied the name “Christians” to professors of Christianity. Here in the third city of the Roman Empire, the first Gentile Church was founded; a church that would greatly influence the progress of Christianity among the heathen and the course of history.

The early professors of Christianity were found to be “Disciples” of Christ, followers of what Christ preached. These were seen to be Christ-like, a nature missing in the lives of many of today’s professors.

Many of today’s Christians are no more Disciples; they’re not followers of Christ. They do not manifest the gospel they espouse. These Christians lack spiritual connection. Consequently, they do not have the power of the Holy Spirit of God associated with the gospel; and so they live empty lives, and are unable to influence anybody.

They will chase all other things but not Christ Jesus, whose name they bear. They fail to live as He lived; a man who loved and stood for truth and righteousness, who brought light to the darkened heart of men.

Many professors of Christianity have lost touch with this Man and what He stood for. They aren’t different from the World they are to change with the gospel. They have failed to make the light of God in them shine to enlighten darkened lives as Christ did; but have unequally yoked themselves to them.

Of a truth, many of today’s professors of Christianity are just not Christians; they are something else. No wonder the Scriptures warn:

“For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God.” [1 Peter 4:17]

Why begin judgment with the house of God?

It is because today’s house of the Living God is filled with many liars, thieves, adulterers, fornicators, idolaters, murders, and lawless persons who claim to profess Christianity and call themselves Christians. They make a mockery of that name.

How can a Christian proclaim the good news of the Gospel when he, himself, isn’t manifesting the good news he is preaching? How can a Christian touch and influence the Secular when he isn’t affected by what he professes?

It is time professors of Christianity are seen as Disciples, followers of Christ. It is high time Christians manifested Christ to the Secular World, if it should be touched and saved. Today’s professors of Christianity must understand that being examples, of what they preach, is the best message that could be presented. Christians must get in touch with the truth.

The Solid Foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” [2 Timothy 2:19]
